Evan Chu at Domaine Forget de Charlevoix
Evan (AQF '23) shares his experience at the Domaine Forget de Charlevoix festival in Quebec where he focused on solo clarinet playing as well as chamber music.
“This Summer, I attended the Domaine Forget de Charlevoix festival in Quebec thanks to the AQF scholarship. The festival was two weeks long, and focused on solo clarinet playing as well as chamber music. There, I got to perform in masterclasses with Cleveland Orchestra principal clarinet Afendi Yusuf, as well as internationally recognized clarinetist Nicolas Balderyou.
Attending this festival was a huge step in improving my abilities as a solo performer. It was greatly inspiring to see and be taught by clarinetists that I have idolized since starting on my instrument. This experience was a huge inspiration for me to continue pushing myself in my artistic capabilities”
